Season ends in Munster

Castleisland win the Martin O’Sullivan Cup.

The rugby season in Munster came to a close with Castleisland snatching victory in the final minute of the Martin O’Sullivan Cup Final at Fermoy to defeat Waterford City 10-8 with a last minute try.

This was a bitter blow to the Suirsiders who would have started as underdogs and led 3-0 at half time with a penalty by Conor Power. They went further ahead with a try by Jason Power but a late rally by the Kerry side saw them come out on top.

Brian Fleming brought Castleisland back into the game with a try and with the game in injury time, Seamus Riordan got over for a second try to give his side their first victory in this competition.
