There is plenty of action in the All Ireland League this weekend with 15 games scheduled for Friday night and ten on Saturday as a number of games have been moved to Friday due to the Ireland v South Africa international on Saturday in Dublin. (Full fixture list.)
There are Munster derbies in each division getting proceedings underway on Friday evening.
Garryowen and Young Munster lock horns in a mid-table clash at Dooradoyle in Division 1A. The Sky Blues have slipped to sixth following their 32-22 defeat by Lansdowne at the Aviva Stadium while Young Munster are up to fifth following back to back victories over Cork Constitution and St Mary’s College.
In Division 1B, fifth-placed UCC host bottom side Dolphin, who have not won since they defeated Ballymena in County Antrim in early October.
There is a Premier County derby at the Spafield in Division 2A which sees Cashel hosting Nenagh Ormond, with both sides coming off the back of defeats by Galway Corinthians and Highfield respectively. Cashel’s defeat in Galway saw them slip to sixth place, while the North Tipperary side’s home defeat by Highfield sees them drop to fourth.
Division 2B leaders Old Crescent, who have made it six wins from six, travel to Leeside to take on struggling Sunday’s Well at Irish Independent Park and in Division 2C, third-placed Bruff host second-paced Thomond.
The only game in Division 1A on Saturday sees defending champions Cork Constitution, who have climbed up to fourth place following their away win over Dublin University, travel to Athlone to take on Buccaneers, who are propping up the table.
Division 1B leaders Shannon will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run as they travel to County Kildare to take on Naas, who are sixth and Limerick neighbours UL Bohemian are at home to Old Wesley in a basement clash.
Highfield face a tricky task in their bid to maintain their push for a second successive top four finish as they travel to the Place Grounds to take on fifth-placed City of Armagh in Division 2A.
Midleton, who have slipped into the relegation zone in Division 2C following a run of four successive defeats from which they have claimed three losing bonus points, face a tough assignment as they host Malahide.
