Shannon and Old Crescent remain unbeaten in their respective Divisions of the Ulster Bank League as Cork Constitution got back to winning ways in the All Ireland League.

A 28-3 bonus point win for Cork Constitution over Dublin University at College Park sees the Temple Hill side get back into the top four of Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League. The visitors led 21-3 at half time. Lar Coughlan, Conor Kindregan, Ross O’Neill and Jack McHenry scored tries for Con’, Tomas Quinlan kicked three conversions and Aidan Moynihan one.

Garryowen lost to leaders Lansdowne 32-22 at the Aviva Stadium to end their recent good run. Peadar Collins, James McInerney and Tim Ferguson scored tries for the Limerick side and Neil Cronin kicked two conversions and a penalty.

Young Munster followed up last week’s great win at Temple Hill with a 51-7 demolition of St. Mary’s College at Tom Clifford Park. Gavin Coombes scored two tries for the winners and Rob Guerin, Daniel Hurley, Tom Ryan and Tom McHale got one each. They were also awarded a penalty try. Shane Airey kicked two penalties and two conversions and Alan Tynan added two further conversions.

Shannon have opened up a seven point gap at the top of Division 1B after their 33-14 win over second placed Banbridge at Thomond Park. Conor Fitzgerald scored a try and four conversions for the winners. Eathon Moloney, Sean McCarthy, Duncan Casey and Nathan Randles were Shannon’s other try scorers.

U.C.C. have moved into fifth place after their 35-34 away win at Ballymena. Richard Walsh, Daire Feeney and Murray Linn scored tries for the Students. They were also awarded a penalty try and James Taylor kicked three penalties and two conversions.

Dolphin remain rooted to the bottom of the table after their 34-5 defeat at Donnybrook by Old Wesley. Ian O’Donoghue scored a second half try for the visitors.

U.L. Bohemian lost 18-13 away to Old Belvedere. James Ryan scored UL Bohes try and Robbie Bourke kicked two penalties and a conversion.

In Division 2A Highfield won the Munster derby at Nenagh defeating the home side 39-22.  Paddy Ryan scored two tries for Highfield the second being considered for the try of the season. Michael Dillane, James Daly and Lorcan Kavanagh got one each. Paddy O’Toole kicked four conversions and two penalties. Nenagh replied with tries from John Coffey and Johnny Hayes. They were also awarded a penalty try. Clayton Stewart kicked a penalty and a conversion.

A try from Richard Moran and a Darragh Lyons penalty were not enough for Cashel who lost 19-8 away to Galway Corinthians.

Old Crescent extended their lead at the top of Division 2B with a 45-0 home win over second placed Skerries. Val McDermot scored two tries for the winners and Larry Hanly, Shane Mullally, Cathal Monaghan, Brian Tuohy and Ronan McKenna all crossed the white wash. McKenna kicked five conversions.

Thomond have moved into second place in Division 2C after their 34-17 win against Malahide at Liam Fitzgerald Park. Darragh O’Neill scored two tries, Eoin O’Neill, Liam Brock and Evan Cusack got a try each. Cusack kicked a penalty and three conversions.

Bruff lost away to Bangor 13-11 and felt that if decisions had gone their way they could have won this game. Paddy Cleary scored a try and Dave O’Grady kicked two penalties.

A last minute penalty denied Midleton victory away to leaders Sligo 16-14. Ross O’Mahony and Jon Gardiner scored tries for Midleton and Stuart Lee converted both.
