In a quite weekend of Senior Rugby but, there were wins for Cashel and Sunday’s Well in the League and Cork Constitution and Garryowen booked quarter final places in the Cup.

Cashel have extended their lead at the top of Division 2A of the Ulster Bank League with a 15-3 home win over Nenagh Ormond in a Tipperary derby under lights on Friday night.
Jackson Frawley and Robert Coates scored tries for Cashel and Jason Newton kicked a penalty and a conversion. Jack Mollumphy replied with a penalty for the visitors.

A try from prop Michael Moynihan converted by Shane Riordan three minutes from time earned Sunday’s Well a 17-14 home win over MU Barnhall.
The ‘Well led 10-6 at half time with a try from John Moynihan, which O’Riordan converted and Greg Higgins kicked a penalty.
The Kildare side hit back to lead 14-10 with a try ten minutes from time but a late rally saw the ‘Well put back to back wins together.

In the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup holders Cork Constitution defeated Highfield 57-6 at Woodleigh Park. Tries from Cathal O’Flaherty and John Poland and two conversions and a penalty by Darragh Lyons had the visitors 17-6 ahead at half time. Paddy O’Toole replied with two penalties for Highfield.
Tries from Poland, Liam O’Connell, Darren Sweetnam, Tomas Quinlan, Aaron Spring and Liam O’Connor and five conversions from Lyons saw the Temple Hill side advance to the quarter finals.

Garryowen also advanced to the last eight where they will meet Cork Constitution in Cork after their 22-12 win over Shannon at Coonagh.
Tadgh Bennett kicked Shannon into an early 6-0 lead with two penalties but tries from Josh Hrstich and Kieran Barry and a Neil Cronin conversion had the visitors 12-6 ahead.
Two further penalties from Bennett saw the sides level 12-12 at half time.
A Cronin penalty and a conversion of an Andrew O’Byrne try saw Garryowen advance.
