A dramatic injury time try in the 74th minute saw last year’s beaten finalists Ard Scoil Rís booked their place in the quarter finals of the Munster Schools Senior Cup with a narrow win over St. Munchin’s at Tom Clifford Park.

This was a thrilling game of Schools Cup rugby that kept the large attendance on their toes until the final whistle.

Penalties from Kiely on 22 and 34 minutes saw Munchin’s edge ahead 9-8.

Two minutes into injury time Fitzgerald restored Ard Scoil’s advantage with a penalty only for Kiely to land his fourth attempt in the eight minute of injury time for a 12-11 half time lead for Munchin's.

Five minutes into the second half Kiely made it 15-11 for Munchin’s.

Ard Scoil raised their game in the final minutes and looked to have scored a try only for the ball to be knocked on over the line.
