Holders Cork Constitution are out of this season’s Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup as three Limerick sides and Highfield make the semi-finals.

Young Munster ended Cork Constitution’s hopes of another Senior Cup victory with a 27-17 win at Tom Clifford Park to make amends for last season’s final defeat.

The hosts raced into a 15-0 lead with tries from Pa Ryan and Mark O’Mara and a conversion and a penalty from Evan Cusack before Vince O’Brien opened Con’s account with a try, A Harry Fleming try made it 20-5 at the interval.

A penalty try extended Munster’s lead midway through the second half before a late rally from Con’ yielded tries from Max Abbott and Richie Cassidy, one of which Aidan Moynihan converted.

Garryowen proved too strong for Old Crescent in a game that produced ten tries. Jamie Heuston (2), Colm Quilligan, Jack Delaney and Cian Huxford were the Garryowen try scorers and they were also awarded a penalty try. Conor Hayes kicked three conversions and a penalty. Old Crescent replied with tries from Kevin Doyle, Jack O’Mahony, Dan Hurley and Ronan Reynolds. O’Mahony kicked two conversions and Ronan McKenna added a conversion and a penalty.

Shannon edged out U.L. Bohemian 23-15 in an exciting derby game at Coonagh.

Harry Byrne opened the scoring with a penalty for U.L. Bohemian but a try from Ikem Ugwueru converted by Ben Daly put Shannon ahead. UL Bohes responded with a try from Paul Clancy and Byrne converted. A try from Kelvin Browne had Shannon 12-10 ahead at half time.

A John Hayes try and a John O’Sullivan penalty extended the home side’s lead before Sean Cremin scored a try for the visitors. O’Sullivan made sure of victory with a second penalty.

Highfield booked their place in the last four with a 32-15 win over U.C.C. at the Mardyke.

Two tries from Chris Bannon and one each from Mark Dorgan and Paul Stack were Highfield’s try scorers and Paddy O’Toole converted three and kicked two penalties. Eoin Monahan and Cian Barry replied with tries for College. James Taylor kicked a penalty and Monahan a conversion.

The semi-final line up for the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup is Garryowen v Highfield and Shannon v Young Munster.  Games to be played week ending 5th December.

Holders Midleton will face Dolphin in the final of the Cork Charity Shield after their 28-15 home win over Sunday’s Well. Hero for the winners was Stuart Lee who scored two tries and converted four tries. Willie Casey and Julian Power were Midleton’s other try scorers. Billy Pope and Ryan Buckley replied with tries for the ‘Well and Eoin Lacey kicked a conversion and a penalty.
