Garryowen end Cork Constitution’s hopes of a sixth successive Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup title as UL. Bohemian booked their place in the decider with victory at Bruff.

For the third successive weekend Garryowen and Cork Constitution clashed with victory yet again going to the home side.

This time at Dooradoyle, Garryowen came out on top 23-14 thanks mainly to an inspirational display from Neil Cronin.

Tomas Quinlan opened the scoring with a penalty for the holders after fifteen minutes but Cronin leveled six minutes later.

Jamie McInerney put Garryowen ahead on twenty five minutes and Cronin converted for a lead they would not relinquish.

Cronin and Quinlan exchanged penalties to leave the Dooradoyle side 13-6 ahead at half time.

It was 16-9 after six minutes of the second-half with Cronin and Quinlan swapping penalties, before Cronin made sure of victory with a try and conversion on sixty one minutes.

Rob Jermyn scored a late try for Con’ but it was not enough to keep a hold of their title.

U.L. Bohemian are through to the final after their 22-8 away win at Bruff.

Mike Mullally opened the scoring with a penalty for UL Bohes but Dave O’Grady leveled for the home side.

Tries from Mark Bromell and James Ryan and a Mullally conversion gave the visitors a 15-3 interval lead.

Cian Ryan scored a Bruff try to close the gap to seven points but a try from Shane Scannell converted by Mullally sent Bohes through to the final.

There was one game in the All Ireland League where Rainey Old Boys closed the gap on leaders Old Crescent in Division 2B with a 29-21 win at Irish Independent Park against Sunday’s Well.

This game was in the balance right through until a yellow card to the ‘Well’s scrum half Peter Arigho on sixty five minutes saw Rainey winger Andrew Donaghy cross the line twice for a 29-16 lead.

The ‘Well fought to the finish with Rob O’Keeffe scoring a try as the home side battled to at least try and get something from this tie.

The lead changed hands four times in the opening half with Kieran Stokes being credited with a push over try and Shane O’Riordan converted and added two penalties as the home side trailed 17-13 at half time.

The ‘Well totally dominated the opening twenty minutes of the second half with their only reward a penalty from O’Riordan.

Then the yellow card saw Rainey pounce for the bonus point win.
