Six Munster Players Named In Ireland U18 7s Squads

There have been six Munster players named in the Irish U18 7s squads for the Rugby Europe U18 Championship taking place in Strasbourg this weekend
In the girls squad Ballina-Killaloe’s Caitriona Finn, Dolphin’s Niamh Crotty, Ennis’ Lyndsay Clarke and Bantry Bay’s Grace Kingston have all been called into the squad for the tournament.
Joining them will be Iveragh Eagles players Conall Cournane and Michael O’ Sullivan who will line out for the boys team.
The Boys will play Romania and Lithuania on Friday and complete the Pool phase on Saturday against Germany before heading into the playoffs.
The Girls side play France in their opening match on Saturday morning before facing Belgium and Czechia on the first day of their tournament. Day 2 sees them take on Poland, Spain and Portugal.
Speaking about the tournament Wayne Mitchell, National Talent Squad & Talent ID Manager, said,
“It’s a huge year for 7s with our Men and Women heading to the Olympics and raising the profile of the game. This U18 tournament is an opportunity for the next generation of young players to continue their development while aspiring to follow in the footsteps of the senior teams.”
