The IRFU ‘Spirit of Rugby’ initiative continues to educate across the Domestic game through the work of Munster Rugby Spirit Officer, Emily O’Leary.

The ‘Spirit of Rugby’ initiative is a series of practical educational programmes that embody and promote the core values of the game – Respect, Inclusivity, Integrity, Fun and Excellence.

O’Leary has most recently worked with the Bank of Ireland Talent Camp squads to ensure the delivery of Anti-Doping educational workshops in conjunction with Sport Ireland, having previously focused on Safeguarding clubs.

She said: “The ‘Spirit of Rugby’ programme aims to support everyone involved in the game, including players, coaches, volunteers and parents. Its purpose is to educate those within the game about their responsibility on and off the field.”

The Bank of Ireland Talent Camps are currently taking place at both CIT and UL with the U19, U18, U17, U16 and U18 Girls talent squads developing their skills within a professional environment.

O’Leary will focus on the delivery of Health and Well Being as well as Disability education in the coming months, providing clubs with information on how to encourage and facilitate disability rugby.

The IRFU Spirit of Rugby Programme is offering a new leadership development initiative for active volunteers involved in age-grade and/or the women’s game who are interested in helping shape the future of Irish Rugby. The closing date for applications is strictly 1pm on Friday 27 July 2018. Click HERE for more information.
