Squads Announced For CBC v PBC

Tomorrow is almost guaranteed to be an enthralling battle between two old rivals - Colbert O'Sullivan

The squads have been announced for tomorrow’s Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup semi-final between Christian Brothers College and Presentation Brothers College at Irish Independent Park (KO 2pm).

An absorbing initial semi-final saw the scores swap five times, it looked like Robbie Kelleher’s try 10 minutes from time would send CBC into the final, before Alex Walsh held his nerve to slot the equalising penalty for the Mardyke outfit.

Pres are already in this year’s Schools Senior Cup final, which takes place this coming Friday at 4pm in Thomond Park, and will be looking to target a double, not seen since Castletroy’s success in 2008.

Looking to stop them, however, is leading side in this competition, Christians, who will be hoping their late penalty in the first stanza won’t end up coming to bite them. Tommy Crowe’s side have impressed throughout the competition, and were but a few minutes from booking a place in the final.

One change to the Christians side sees James Moylan take over at scrum-half in place of Mark O’Connor, while for Pres Michael Giltinan drops to the bench as Max O’Leary comes in, Jack Kelleher moving into the second-row from the flank. Christians will now take ‘home’ advantage in tomorrow afternoon’s replay at Irish Independent Park.
