St. Mary’s & Thomond Compete For Webb Cup

St. Marys will take on Thomond in the final of the Webb Cup on Monday, 5th May at Thomond Park (kick-off 4pm).

Thomond's third string side, who won the Gleeson League, will be going for a clean sweep against their Limerick rivals.

St. Mary's overcame Garrowen 17-0 to reach the final while Thomond defeated Tipperary side Kilfeacle & District 25-11 to claim their spot.

The Trophy presented by the Webb family in 1971 in honour of Sean Webb who died while still playing thirds rugby with Bohemian RFC.

The Webb Cup is competed for annually between the 2nd XV of Junior clubs and the 3rd XV of existing Senior clubs in the North Munster area and has been fiercely contested down through the years and a much sought after trophy.
