St Senans made a solid start and were rewarded by their early pressure when Rachael O’Brien slotted over a penalty to give the Clare side the first points of the game.

Dungarvan were very strong up front and their defence was solid. Eventually Senans broke the Dungarvan line and Claire O’Brien went in under the posts to claim the first try of the game. Rachael O’Brien made no mistake with the conversion giving Senans a 10-0 lead.

Senans didn't wait long to capitalise on their pressure and only a few minutes later Rachel McGann went over the line for the second try of the day. O’Brien added the extras to give Senans a commanding 17-0 lead.

Soon after Dungarvan capitalised on their dominance in the scrum and crossed the line for their first try.

In the second half Senans showed their dominance and tries by Claire Hestor, Linda McInerney, Una McNamara and Mairéad McKenna with conversions from Rachel and Claire O’Brien put some daylight between the sides.

Dungarvan got some consolidation when they crossed over for their second converted try but there was more to come from Senans.

Claire Hestor finished off Seanan’s scoring tally with another excellent try under the posts with Rachael O’Brien narrowly missing the conversion.
