Stage 1 Coaching Course At Thomond Park
18th September 2017 By The Editor
Munster Rugby held a Stage 1 Coaching Course on Saturday at Thomond Park Stadium with 35 mini coaches in attendance.
The course was hosted by the Munster Rugby Development Department focusing on key skills of mini rugby including rugby prime, catch/pass, tackle and evasion.
The fundamental emphasis on Stage 1 is developing the coach as a guide and enhancing the players experience and development through the game, with a large portion of the course promoting game centered concepts with fun games and activities.
IRFU Training and Education Manager Colin Moran was on hand to deliver elements of the new curriculum which now entails a one day course to ascertain full accreditation.
Munster Rugby will be running further Stage 1 Coaches. For more details please email aidancleary@munsterrugby.ie or to download an application form click here
