In the Munster Schools Boys Junior Cup, Glenstal Abbey and Crescent College Comprehensive advanced to the second round thanks to wins over High Schools CBS Clonmel and Rockwell College, respectively.

However, Crescent’s attempt to advance to the quarter-finals was cut short by St Munchin’s College. St Munchin’s won out 34-18 in Thomond Park on Wednesday.

St Munchin’s will meet Bandon Grammar School who fell to a narrow 14-12 defeat to CBC in a semi-final qualifier at Virgin Media Park on Wednesday.

In the other Round 2 clash, Ardscoil Rís beat Glenstal Abbey 24-7 in Thomond Park to progress to the quarter-finals where they will meet Casteltroy College who suffered a 50-13 defeat to PBC at Virgin Media Park on Thursday. PBC’s victory means that they advance directly to the semi-finals.
