Students Teaching In Waterpark

Students from both Waterpark Schools getting involved in a brilliant Daise day's rugby

A memorable day’s rugby for almost 300 boys and girls from primary and secondary schools in Waterford, as Munster Rugby continue their commitment to rugby education across all levels.

Community Rugby Officer John O’Neill was on hand to deliver an introduction to rugby coaching course for Transition Year students from Waterpark College, giving them their first taste of life on the other edge of the side-line.

Munster Rugby’s Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus recently won this year’s PRO12 Coach of the Year title, and the province is well capable of producing successful coaches of their own, one Declan Kidney a notable example.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the 38 TY students, who passed on their knowledge of the game to over 250 pupils from Waterpark NS, using their knowledge and skill learned to deliver a Rugby Prime training session for the pupils under glorious sunshine in Waterford City.
