Summer Camp Fun In Cork, Kerry & Waterford
24th July 2015 By Munster Rugby
This week children from Cobh, Killarney and Waterford enjoyed fun activities at the Munster Rugby Summer Camps.
This week the children got the opportunity to see the 6 Nations Trophy claimed by their Ireland rugby heroes in last season’s 6 Nations triumph.
The participants took the opportunity to get their photos taken with the silverware which is currently on tour throughout the country.
There was added excitement last Wednesday when some the Munster Rugby players paid a visit to the camps and join in on some of the games, sign autographs and answer the children’s questions about the life a professional rugby players.
The children attending the Cobh camp were delighted to meet John Ryan and Peter McCabe while Tomás O’Leary and Darren Sweetnam took a trip to Killarney. Dave O’Callaghan and Johnny Holland travelled to the Waterford camp which took place in the Waterford Institute of Technology.

Next week the Summer Camps will take place at Muskerry, Thurles and Tralee. A limited number of places are still available to purchase for each camp, so if you want to guarantee a place at your preferred venue, don't delay and book online by clicking here.
This summer Munster Rugby has a total of 23 venues throughout the whole province (please see below for your nearest venue). Camp fee is €;85 per child with a family discount of a second and subsequent child at €;75.
Each camp takes place over one week (Monday through to Friday inclusive) between 9:30am and 1:30pm.
Each participant will receive an Official Summer Camp Pack comprising an adidas Summer Camp T-Shirt, adidas Shorts, adidas Socks, adidas Draw-String Bag, Mouth Guard and one Junior ticket to a Munster match.
Children who participate in the camps will get the chance to make new friends, learn more about rugby values such as team work, respect and integrity, and also become more aware of the importance of physical fitness. All this while learning to develop the basic rugby skills of passing, tackling (in a controlled environment), evasion and kicking. Most of all we guarantee lots of fun!
To facilitate the appropriate attention, participants will be divided by their age into groups. Central to the Munster Rugby Summer Camps philosophy is ensuring the introduction to the game of Rugby in a safe and controlled manner.
The Camps will be managed and run by fully accredited I.R.F.U. Mini Rugby coaches. All Summer Camp staff have undertaken the National Garda Vetting process required to comply with the IRFU policy regarding recruitment and vetting to work in age grade rugby.
