Summer Camp Week Five Begins

Last week's gang in Kinsale, with Simon Zebo and Rory Scannell - Jane Burns

The sun in shining once more, and the stage set for week five of our Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Summer Camps.

After last week’s brilliant five days in Killarney, Cobh, and Kinsale, our team of coaches are gearing up for what is sure to be yet another fun-filled, enjoyable week of skills, games, and the best in coaching.

This time around we’re going from West to East, as Muskerry, Clanwilliam, and Waterford IT (Carrignore) host camps, which have already visited all six counties, with a good few weeks remaining.

We’re just over the halfway mark now, and with Stephen Archer and Duncan Williams in Cork, Tommy O’Donnell and Conor Oliver on their way to Tipperary, and Waterford getting a visit from Jack O’Donoghue and David Johnston, there’s sure to be an enormous wealth of knowledge our aspiring #FutureReds can gain an insight on in the Q&A sessions.

This summer we have a total of 23 venues throughout the whole province (click here to find your nearest venue).

Camp places are available for boys and girls from 6 to 12 years old and take place over one week (Monday through to Friday inclusive) between 9:30am and 1:30pm.

The current crop of boys and girls will get the chance to make new friends, learn more about rugby values such as teamwork, respect and integrity, and also become more aware of the importance of physical fitness. All this while learning to develop the basic rugby skills of passing, tackling (in a controlled environment), evasion and kicking.

We’ll be checking in with the three camps later on in the week to see how they’re progressing, but for now we hope they all enjoy their time with us, becoming the next group of #FutureReds.
