Summer Camps 2014

The ever popular Munster Rugby Summer Camps are back for Summer 2014. This summer there will be a total of 23 venues spread throughout the six counties of Munster.

Camps are open for boys and girls of all abilities from age 6 through to 12 years of age. Each camp takes place over one week (Monday through to Friday inclusive) between 9:30am and 1:30pm.

The cost is €;85 per child. Additional children from the same family can attend for the discounted rate of €;75 per child.

This year Munster Rugby have a Special Promotion Rate of €;75 per child for all those who book before 1st May 2014.

Booking is easy, you can book online at www.munsterrugby.ie or download an application form from the website by clicking here. Host clubs will also be distributing forms to their mini rugby section.

Speaking on behalf of Munster Rugby Damon Urlich, Community Rugby Manager, said “we are pleased to be launching the Munster Rugby Summer Camp programme for 2014. The camps continue to go from strength to strength each year with the highlight of each camp undoubtedly being the visit of the Munster professional players”.

“One of the benefits of our Camps is that it gets young children involved in sport in a fun and safe environment”, he said.

“Research tells us educating children and helping them to be more active from an early age is vital to their future health. A key reason why Munster Rugby Summer Camps continue to be so popular is down to the quality of our experienced staff and their ability to ensure that all children come away with a positive experience at the end of the week”.

Each participant will receive an Official Summer Camp Pack comprising an Adidas Summer Camp T-Shirt, Adidas Shorts, Adidas Socks, Adidas Draw-String Bag, Mouth Guard and one Junior ticket to a Munster pre-season match.

Children who participate in the camps will get the chance to make new friends, learn more about rugby values such as team work, respect and integrity, and also become more aware of the importance of physical fitness. All this while learning to develop the basic rugby skills of passing, tackling (in a controlled environment), evasion and kicking. Most of all we guarantee lots of fun!

To facilitate the appropriate attention, participants will be divided by their age into groups. Central to the Munster Rugby Summer Camps philosophy is ensuring the introduction to the game of Rugby in a safe and controlled manner.

The Camps will be managed and run by fully accredited I.R.F.U. Mini Rugby coaches. All Summer Camp staff have undertaken the National Garda Vetting process required to comply with the IRFU policy regarding recruitment and vetting to work in age grade rugby.
