Summer Talent Development Programme Gets Underway

The Munster U18 Girls squad and coaches.

The 2022 Munster Rugby Summer Talent Development Programme kicked off this week with all squads settling into their respective training schedules.

The programme began in late June and sees the Munster U20/U19 Boys, Munster U18s Boys Clubs, Munster U18 Boys Schools, Munster U17 Boys, Munster U16 Boys and Munster U18 Girls squads train from anywhere between two to four times per week in different locations throughout the province.

The squads will continue to train over the coming weeks ahead of the respective Interprovincial Championships which take place at the end of August.

Currently, the U20/U19, U18 and U17 groups are taking part in a residential programme at the University of Limerick where the players stay overnight and receive a holistic player development approach which includes technical and tactical rugby development.

Off pitch education modules such as nutrition, anti-doping and mental skills are also included.

The U18 Girls squad are also undertaking a similar residential programme this week where they are staying overnight in Tralee for a training camp.
