Temple Hill To Host Bateman Cup Final

The Ulster Bank Bateman Cup Final between Cork Constitution FC and Clontarf FC will kick-off at 2:35pm on Saturday 18th April at Temple Hill, Cork.

The two sides recently played out a thrilling 43-30 Ulster Bank Division 1A clash at Castle Avenue where Clontarf emerged the victors but Con have a strong and proud pedigree in the Bateman Cup and are chasing three in a row.

Con hosted last year's final beating UCD 19-6 and the year previous accounted for St. Mary's at Templeville Road 24-19. In the 2010 edition, Con defeated Garryowen 15-11 to lift the trophy bouncing back after losing out to Ballynahinch 17-6 in the 2009 final. Con also won the Bateman Cup in 2006 defeating St. Mary's 37-12 at Lansdowne Road.

To reach the final both Clontarf and Cork Constitution won their respective Provincial Cups and then went on to play the Provincial Cup winners of Ulster and Connacht. Tarf defeated Ballynahinch 24-20 at Ballymacarn Park while Con won away to Buccaneers 36-25.

The Ulster Bank Bateman Cup Final will be shown live on RTE 2.
