Thomond Park To Host Avonmore Munster Schools Cup Final

Avonmore Sponsorship and Communications Manager Kieran O’Connor recently paid a visit to Rockwell College and St. Munchin’s College to present both squads with pre final ‘Kit Bags’ ahead of the Avonmore Milk Munster Schools Senior Cup Final.

Both schools will go head to head on Monday, 19th March for their third meeting in the final since the beginning of this prestigious Munster competition which was first played in 1909.

Cup holders Rockwell College will be competing for their 25th Munster Schools Senior Cup title this year while St. Munchin’s College will look for a 6th title, their first being in 1968.

This will be the fourth Munster Senior Cup final in a row for Rockwell College who beat Presentation Brothers College last year having lost to them in 2010 and Christian Brothers College in 2009.

St. Munchin’s College last won the Cup in 2006 with a victory over Presentation Brothers College in Thomond Park.
