Tipperary Schools Sevens Blitz
9th November 2010 By Munster Rugby
With sevens rugby bidding to make a big impact at the Olympics in Rio 2016 and a growing tradtion of age-grade sevens competitions around the province, three local Tipperary schools recently took to playing a round robin blitz in Nenagh Ormond.
The schools involved were Nenagh CBS, St Annes (Killaloe) and Borrisokane Community School. Many of the competitors had participated in last year’s Tipperary blitz and it was notable how these players have adapted and embraced sevens rugby.
The event was kindly hosted by Nenagh Ormond RFC and coordinated by Munster Rugby’s Ed Daly, Fiach O'Loughlin and local Club Community Rugby Officer, Pat Fitzpatrick.
