31st May 2013 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby’s Tommy O’Donnell recently attended the North Munster Cadet and Regional Development Squad Player and Parent evening to talk about his own experiences as a Munster Youth player.
O’Donnell, who took up rugby at his local Club Clanwilliam FC, congratulated the players for being selected on their respective squads and spoke about the opportunities they now have to develop their skills and achieve their long term goals.
A total of 26 North Munster Cadet (U16) players, coached by Fiach O’Loughlin will join the 22 selected North Munster RDS (U17) squad, coached by John Lacey in a summer programme at Castletroy College, Limerick.
Starting on 8th July right up to the end of August each player will complete 16 hours of Strength and Conditioning programmes under the supervision of Munster Rugby’s PJ Wilson.
Players will also take part in 16 hours of Skill Development and General Movement modules as part of their ongoing rugby development.
The summer programme will prepare all players for the North, South, East and West Munster Round Robin Series ahead of selection for next season’s Munster Rugby U18 Clubs squad.
