Transition Year Students Complete VIP Programme

Munster Rugby recently delivered a Rugby Coaching Course to 25 Transition Year students from a selection of Limerick schools taking part in the Limerick Sports Partnership VIP group.

The Transition Year Student Voluntary Inspired Participation (VIP) Programme is a programme developed by the Limerick Sports Partnership. The aim of the VIP Programme is to develop confident and competent physical activity leaders who will plan, organise and deliver physical activity sessions in communities and schools across Limerick.

The VIP programme allows participants the opportunity to develop their sports qualifications through nationally recognised sports courses as well as enabling them to get invaluable coaching experience in a number of communities across Limerick.

Munster Rugby’s Transition Year course gives participants the knowledge and skills to plan and experience coaching rugby to a specific stage of IRFU long term player development. The course also gives the opportunity for these participants to put what is learned into practice by assisting Munster Rugby in development activities.
