TY Coaching Course In Villiers
7th April 2015 By Munster Rugby
The Munster Rugby Development Department recently ran a transition year rugby coaching course in Villiers Secondary School, Limerick.
Andy Brace and Noel O'Meara co-ordinated the course with the students spending the day learning about leprechaun rugby and its' importance in teaching young players the game.
All participating students took part in practical and theory modules which focused on the primary core skills and the principles of rugby.
Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of physical literacy for the young player and also how the players learn through the fun element of the sport.
The programme educates students on how to plan and deliver a rugby coaching session for primary school pupils.
Munster Rugby would like to thank the students and teachers of Villiers Secondary School for their participation in the programme.
