U17 Player Development Easter Programme
24th March 2016 By Munster Rugby
The Munster Rugby player screening programme continues over the Easter break for both the U17 Clubs and Schools players.
Clubs
Those involved in the U17 Clubs extended squad played Connacht U17s in Tuam RFC on Tuesday where emerging players put their technical and tactical abilities to the test against their Connacht counterparts. In total, 37 players participated across three games of 25 minutes.
The extended squad will be reduced over the coming weeks ahead of the annual Summer Talent Camp.
Schools
The U17 Schools side held an internal trial game in LIT yesterday, a fixture that provided the curtain raiser for the U18 Schools game against France (France winning 36-20). The U17 Schools contingent have recently been involved in the Clayton Hotels Munster Schools Junior Cup and their performances both in the Cup and over the coming weeks of screening will determine the make-up of the development squad this summer.
