U18 and U19 Summer Training Programme
9th July 2008 By Munster Rugby
The Munster Rugby U18 and U19 Summer training programme is currently taking place over a nine week period, in an effort to identify next season’s U18 and U19 Interprovincial sides.
The programme which is in it’s third week, takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Cork and Limerick.
The nine week programme will culminate with both camps taking part in an intense, week-long training session in Clongowes. Players from all over the province have been selected to take part in the training, which incorporates outdoor skill sessions and gym conditioning programmes utilising Munster Rugby resources.
Academy Manager Ian Sherwin, Sub Academy Fitness Coach Paudie Roche, and Elite Development Officers (EDOs) Ray Egan and Ken O’Connell, are on hand each day guiding and coaching the selected players through the demanding stages.
The training camp provides players with the expertise and knowledge of Munster Rugby coaches within a professional environment, and is of huge benefit for the development and future of potential Munster players.
