U19 O’Brien Cup Update

The Munster Schools U19 O’Brien Cup has reached the quarter final stage.

St. Anne’s Community College Killaloe will host Villiers School B in the first quarter final. St. Anne’s are showing good form this season recording a comprehensive 39 – 0 win over St. Ailbe’s Tipperary in the preliminary round and following that with a very impressive 20 -16 away victory to last year’s winners Abbey CBS, also Tipperary town.

Villers School B enjoyed a 44-0 victory over St. Patrick’s Comprehensive Shannon in the previous round so they will have to be on their toes when they travel to Killaloe.

The next quarter final sees St. Joseph’s CBS Nenagh travel to Waterford to play Newtown School. St. Joseph’s recorded an impressive 52 – 26 win over Rice College Ennis in the previous round, while Newtown School travelled to Cork and won 19 -17 against Carrigaline Community School.

Waterpark College began their cup campaign at home with a close 29 – 24 win over Colaiste Mhuire Crosshaven. They await the winners of the west Munster derby of Tarbert Comprehensive v Scoil Mhuire agus Ide Newcastlewest, which will be played next Tuesday 14th November.

Intermediate School Killorglin recorded an impressive 26 – 0 win away to CBS The Green Tralee in the first round. They will now host St. Patrick’s Secondary School Castleisland in an-all Kerry affair.
