U19 Tour To Irish Exiles A Success

The Munster U19 squad travelled to London last Friday to play two warm up games against the Irish Exiles in preparation for the upcoming interprovincial series.
Munster 19's took on the Exiles U20’s on Friday night and the Exiles U19’s on Sunday at the impressive Oratory School grounds, just outside Reading.
The Friday fixture proved a tough challenge but the Munster side were resilient in their efforts against a slightly older team leading to a winning scoreline of 37 points to 19.
On Saturday, their down day, the U19 squad and management travelled into London to watch the Harlequins v Connaught pre season friendly ahead of their early Sunday kick-off at 12 noon against the Exiles U19's.
In sweltering heat conditions it was pre arranged to take water breaks after 20 minutes. Munster kicked off the scoreline with a 3-0 lead however the tenacious Exiles side came back strong commanding a 14-3 advantage heading into the first break.
Having regrouped in the second phase the visitors scored some well worked tries thereafter. Following some good inter play and with a huge team effort they overcame the Exiles by 51 points to 14 at the final whistle.
The Munster U19 side will continue to prepare for the interprovincial series over the next few weeks with their first game kicking off on Saturday 8th September away to Ulster in Ravenhill.
