UL Bohemian Halt Shannon Promotion

Shannon’s hopes of automatic promotion in Division 1B of the All Ireland League received a setback when they lost at home to U.L. Bohemian under lights at Thomond Park 26-22.
In contrast, UL Bohs’ have eased their relegation worries with this victory.
Conor Fitzgerald opened the scoring with a penalty for Shannon but a try by Joe Conway and a conversion and a penalty by Robbie Bourke gave UL Bohs’ a 10-3 advantage. Two penalties from Fitzgerald left the visitors 10-9 ahead at the interval.
Two penalties from Bourke to one by Fitzgerald extended “The Robins” lead to 16-12 before a try by Adrian Enright made it 21-12.
Fitzgerald kept Shannon in touch with his fifth penalty before Shane Scannell made sure of victory with a try for UL Bohs’.
Shannon secured a losing bonus point in added time with a try by Conor Glynn which Fitzgerald converted.
