UL Bohs Only Munster Winners In Division 1A

UL Bohemian were the only Munster winners in Division 1A of the women’s All-Ireland league at the weekend as they defeated St. Mary’s 8-0 at Annacotty.

The win moves the Limerick side up to fourth in the table behind the three unbeaten Dublin sides, Old Belvedere, Blackrock and Railway Union after three games.

Highfield suffered their second defeat of the season as they went down 25-0 away to Blackrock who have yet to concede a point so far this season.

Tralee dropped to the bottom of the table after an 84-0 loss away to a very strong Old Belvedere side who have now scored 188 points in just three games, conceding just eight.

Nenagh Ormond moved to the top of Division 2 South thanks to their 18-3 win away to Shannon, who were playing their first game of the season.

St. Senan's moved up to second in the table after they defeated Fermoy 11 – 7 in a closely fought contest in tough weather conditions. A try by Kiara Hannon and two penalties from Rachael O Brien sealed the victory for St. Senan's.

Elsewhere, the combined Dungarvan/Youghal team recorded their first win of the season with a 21-12 victory over winless New Ross. New Ross scored the first try but Dungarvan/Youghal hit back with a penalty try that was converted by Angeline Kiely. New Ross went ahead again in the second half after scoring a try under the posts to move 12-7 ahead but Anne Foley and Kiely touched down with Kiely adding both conversions to claim the 21-12 win for Dungarvan/Youghal.
