UL Bohs Win Meteor Munster Sevens

UL Bohemians were named the proud winners at the fourth annual Meteor Munster Sevens Senior tournament at Garryowen F.C. last Saturday.
Cashel RFC brought home the Junior Cup and not to be outdone by the boys, the Ladies Highfield team returned home to their club with the winning silverware from the ladies senior competition.
Without question the team on the day and the eventual Meteor Munster 7s champions were UL Bohemians, who beat another excellent Limerick side and home team Garryowen F.C. with the final score of 21-14.
Meteor’s Head of PR, Amanda Carroll said, “Congratulations to the winners, and in fact all the teams who participated in the Meteor Munster 7’s tournament. It was a great day with families, friends and supporters all out enjoying themselves while watching the talented teams battle it out to bring home the silverware”. We are delighted to have teamed up with Munster Rugby in a tournament that involves so many gifted players and teams in the province”, she added.
The Meteor Munster 7’s involves every county in the province with 22 of Munster’s top clubs represented. Commenting on the results of the day, John Lacey, Munster Rugby’s Coach Development Officer said, “The Meteor Munster 7s Tournament has been a huge success and we are delighted with such a fantastic turnout. There has been great interest from all the clubs, and club coaches in particular, who are using the event to kick off the season”.
In addition to the action packed match schedule, off pitch there was a host of family entertainment, including a bouncy castle and a sizzling BBQ all accompanied by a live DJ.
The event also supported the ‘Headsup’ text referral service from Rehab Care, which aims to help young adults in difficulty by offering support group information for a range of issues via text on 50424
