Shannon defeated Blackrock College in Dublin as they were home defeats for both Bruff and Richmond.

Shannon added to Blackrock College’s relegation worries in Division 1B of the Ulster Bank League with an exciting away win.

This was a great defensive performance by Shannon who were trailing for most of the game following an early try for Blackrock by Jan Simon Byrne which David Godfrey converted.

Tadhg Leader hit back with a try for Shannon but two penalties from Godfrey had the home side 13-5 in front.

A try on the stroke of half time by Paddy Butler converted by Leader made it 13-12 at the break.

Byrne scored a second try for Blackrock but a try by Rob Guerin ten minutes from time converted by Leader gave Shannon the points by the narrowest of margins.

Bruff’s hopes of avoiding relegation from Division 2A game unstuck at Kilballyowen Park when they lost at home to Banbridge 32-15.

In Division 2B Tullamore defeated Richmond 15-12 at Richmond Park.
