Under-16s Bring Home The Silverware After Summer 7s Success

It was finals day for the Underage Girls Interprovincial 7s Series in Dublin last Saturday as the Under-16 Team 1 ran out as worthy winners of the competition having beaten Ulster 1 36-5 in the final
The under-16 Munster 1 side made it to the final by beating Ulster 2 in the semi-final 24-17.
While Munster 2 placed 6th after narrowly missing out on a top 5 spot having been beaten by Connacht 1 by two points.
On the under-18 front, Munster 1 found themselves in a quarter final against Munster 2. It was a tightly contested game with Team 1 taking an early lead but Team 2 didn’t let their heads drop and fought back in the second half, scoring two tries and not conceding any points.
Munster 2 then went on to play Connacht 2 winning the game 27-7 which qualified them for the 5th place play-off against Ulster 1. They then went on to beat Ulster 1 22-15 finishing 5th overall.
Munster 1 having won the first game went on to play Leinster 1 in the semi-final. A great game of rugby was played between the two with Munster leading until Leinster score at the death to win it 17-19.
The girls then went on to play in the 3rd place play-off against Leinster 2 and won comfortably with a score line of 20-10 securing a well deserved 3rd place finish.
Overall, the girls played some fantastic rugby and the improvements with each game was clear to see.
