Upcoming Referee And Coaching Courses

Munster Rugby will be hosting a number of Affiliate Referee Courses and Mini and Foundation Coaching Courses in the coming weeks at venues around the province.

Clonmel RFC will host an Affiliate Referee Course this Thursday, the 18^th, at 7pm. All Affiliate Referee Courses are free of charge and open to all school and club coaches.

There will be a Mini Coaching Course and a Foundation Coaching Course held at the University of Limerick on Friday the 26^th and Saturday the 27^th of September.

This two-day Mini Coaching course starts at 4:15pm and is specifically designed for coaches of Mini rugby (6yrs-12yrs) where players are being introduced to rugby for the first time and participating in games of reduced numbers (8's, 10's and 12-a-side).

The focus is on safety & enjoyment with the coach acting as 'guide' in a player-centred process. Developing players' all-round skills and game-understanding with an emphasis on Physical Literacy appropriate to the stages of development of each individual are the key technical, tactical & physical module objectives. The course develops the coach as 'Guide' and costs €;65.

The two-day Foundation Coaching Course also starts at 4:15pm and is an introduction to the 15-a-side game for coaches and helpers with limited experience in rugby. Safety and enjoyment are in the main themes of the course, and therefore the course is suited for people working with pre-teenage and adolescent players. The course develops the coach as 'Teacher' and costs €;65.

And finally, there will be another Mini Coaching Course in Tralee Institute of Technology on Friday the 3^rd of October and Saturday the 4^th of October. Again, this course starts at 4:15pm.
