Upskilling Continues At Level 3 Coaching Course

Munster Rugby held a very successful Stage III Coaching Course last weekend at Thomond Park Stadium, with 41 coaches in attendance.
Coaches present were from Under 16 to Junior 1 level representing clubs and schools throughout Munster.
Elite Player Development Manager Peter Malone tutored participants on general movement and developing players’ decision making, while Elite Player Development Officer Colm McMahon focused on attack and defence respectively.
Featured areas also included over the two days were Strength and Conditioning, overseen by Ross Callaghan and scrum techniques which were addressed by former Ireland International Marcus Horan.
IRFU Head of Coach Development Matthew Wilkie gave practical modules on back play with Munster Coach Development Officer Brendan O’Connor tutoring on lineout training.
Munster Rugby will be hosting the following Coaching Courses:-
Stage 1: U7 – U12
Saturday 16th September – Limerick
Sunday 24th September – Cork
Saturday 30th September – Waterford
Saturday 7th October – Tralee
Stage 2: U13 – U16 (also novice coaches of 15-a-side rugby without previous playing or coaching experience)
Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th October – Limerick
Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th October – Cork
