Munster Rugby is currently taking applications for a Youth Development Officer based in Cork City
JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT
1. POST TITLE: Youth Development Officer, Cork City
2. ROLE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION
To provide youth rugby development services for clubs and schools (as assigned) and to assist the Regional Development Officers in providing support services throughout the season as required.
Office support to Domestic Game Department (10 hours per week).
3. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Operational: Provincial Development Manager
Functional: Provincial Domestic Games Manager
4. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Provincial Domestic Games Manager
Provincial Development Manger
Club Development Manager
Programmes Administrator
HR & Domestic Game Administrator
Regional Rugby Development Officers
IRFU & Branch Staff
Club / School Staff
5. KEY QUALITIES
Essential:
? Excellent organisation, communication and teamwork skills
? Strong time management skills and intra-personnel skills
? Commitment to the IRFU Code of Ethics in relation to dealing with underage players
? Full Driving License
? Strong Computer Skills
? Excellent Customer Service & Telephone Technique
Desirable:
? Previous experience in the delivery of sporting programmes to clubs and schools
? Experience in the provision of Rugby coaching
6. RESPONSIBILITIES
? Appraising and advising of progress to agreed targets as outlined in the Coaching & Development Office Operational Plan and SLA Document
? Adherence to agreed timetables and compliance with reporting procedures and standards as defined and reviewed by project management.
? Office support (Musgrave Park) two hours per day
? Supporting curriculum based rugby modules in post primary schools within the province
? Responsibility for age grade rugby within the province
7. PERFORMANCE MEASURES
? Maintain effective relationships with the other YDO’s and Domestic Game staff within the province and those members of other organisations or volunteers who are also contributing to the Development of Rugby within the province
? Communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to time manage office and field duties
? Carry out duties and responsibilities with limited supervision
? Make effective and informed decisions in relation to the role, particularly with reference to the outcome goals established in the Strategic Plan
? Portray a competent and professional image of the IRFU on behalf of the province
