Munster Rugby recently spoke to Killarney RFC chairperson Ger Moynihan about becoming an affiliate referee.
Moynihan explains the straightforward process in becoming an affiliate referee in addition to the range of benefits which come with taking up the role.
“So having the courses done and actually getting involved in games as a referee improves your knowledge and your ability to coach and play, I believe quite strongly in that,” Moynihan said.
Affiliate referees are those who are qualified to referee matches involving a club or school to which they are affiliated.
They are often club or school volunteers who usually referee age grade matches and provide an important function in servicing the game at this level in their club or school.
