The Bank of Ireland Munster Clubs Age-Grade Launch took place at Thomond Park last month ahead of the final stages of the U16 and U18 Boys and Girls Cup competitions.

The defending champions from last season’s U16 and U18 competitions were in attendance alongside Munster Women’s player Enya Breen and Munster Academy man Eoin O’Connor.

Ireland Women’s international Breen, from Skibbereen, plays her club rugby with UL Bohemian RFC having previously come through the age-grade ranks at Crosshaven RFC and Bantry Bay RFC.

O’Connor is a product of Waterpark RFC and was recently named in the Ireland U20 squad for the 2020 Six Nations Championship, however a knee injury is currently ruling him out of the campaign.

The Waterford lock won the 2016 Munster U16 Cup with Waterpark and has since represented the club’s senior team in the Munster Junior League.

Munster U16 and U18 Cup holders, Bandon and Skibbereen, added national status to their provincial titles last season and were crowned All Ireland Club champions.

Abbeyfeale won the Munster U16 Girls Cup and Ennis lifted the Munster U18 Girls Cup in 2018/19.

This season and for the first time, the boys and girls clubs age-grade finals will take place collectively across the weekends of March 15 and March 22 at Irish Independent Park.
