Munster take on Connacht on Saturday in Musgrave Park in Round 2 of the Vodafone Women’s Interprovincial Championship (KO 3.15pm, Live on TG4).

Niamh Briggs’ side opened their Interpro title defence with a 41-14 win over Ulster in Armagh last weekend while Connacht beat Leinster 18-17 in the Sportsground.

We spoke to back-row Maeve Óg O’Leary at training this week as she reflects on the win over Ulster while looking ahead to the challenge of Connacht in Musgrave Park on Saturday. Buy tickets here.

“It’s always the way you want to start,” O’Leary said of last weekend’s win.

“I think there was definitely lots of cobwebs, it took us a little while to get into it and there’s obviously lots of work-ons that we have from the weekend but we came away with the win. That’s definitely set the tempo and the tone for the rest of the campaign, hopefully.”
