The Munster Rugby Excellence Camps took place from 11th – 28th of June in UL, MTU Cork and MTU Tralee.
The camps offered a premium rugby experience for children aged 13-16 and players took part in a week-long structured rugby development programme which included core skill development, game understanding, position-specific training, appropriate strength and conditioning training and teamwork.
Speaking about the purpose of these camps Rugby Development Officer Mike Pettman said:
“The purpose of the excellence camp is to get kids together and show them the pathways that are available to them while also aligning with what Munster are trying to achieve in teaching them the cornerstone skills so that they can take them on with them into their clubs and schools.”
Players not only got the chance to improve their skills on the pitch but also attended talks on topics such as mindset and nutrition.
