St. Annes Community College, Killaloe, who were in action at the Girls X7s Blitz in Cork.
The Munster Rugby Development Department recently hosted a Girls X7s Blitz Finals Day at PBC’s grounds in Wilton, Cork with schools from across the province competing at Junior (U16) and Senior (U18.5) level.
In glorious sunshine a total of 26 teams participated in the finals day with Rockwell College winning the senior competition and St. Anne’s Community College coming out on top in the Junior competition for the third successive year.
The winners and runners up of both competitions will go on to represent the province at the National Girls X7s Finals Day in Dublin in early April.
The Girls X7s game is played on a half pitch with seven players on each team learning the basics of rugby, including catch/pass, tackle, ruck contact area, lineout and scrum set-up.
