Villiers Students Undergo TY Rugby Programme
14th December 2015 By Munster Rugby
The transition year students from Villiers Secondary School, Limerick are taking part in a Rugby Programme culminating in them passing of their new knowledge and skills to the primary school pupils attending Milford National School.
All participating students have been educated in practical and theory modules which have focused on the primary core skills and the principles of rugby for the young player. Particular emphasis has been placed on the importance of physical literacy and how players learn through the fun element of sport. The programme is also designed to educated students on how to plan and deliver sessions for primary school pupils.
Over the last few weeks students have visited Milford N.S. Limerick delivering sessions to fifth and sixth class pupils and is hoped this will continue in other primary schools during the New Year.
Munster Rugby would like to thank Mike Storey of Villiers Secondary School for helping coordinate this TY Programme and in particular Milford N.S for their support over the last few weeks.
