It was the first time that Waterford as a county had 3 teams contest the East Munster Finals which is a credit to the work done by the 3 local clubs.
U-18s League Final: Waterpark 41 – 13 Dungarvan
Waterpark retained their East Munster title with a victory over Dungarvan in Carrick on Sunday morning. The Ballinakill side started the game brightly with full-back Alex Molloy landing a penalty to open the scoring.
Shortly after, a quick tap penalty under the post from scrum-half Jordan O’Regan led to the important opening try of the game, Molloy had no problem with the extras. Dungarvan were next on the scoreboard with a penalty when Waterpark failed to deal with the restart.
O’Regan crossed for his second try of the game after good work from second-row Conor Horan at the lineout. Dungarvan crossed for their first try of the game when Waterpark failed to deal with a kick in behind the defence. Half-time score Waterpark 15 – 8 Dungarvan.
The West Waterford side upped their game early in the second half and scored a well worked try to leave the game in the balance. Waterpark finally woke from the half-time slumber with the introduction of Jack Walsh and Jack Nolan taking the game to Dungarvan. Some big carries by Walsh and Tom Swift gave the Waterpark backline the quick ball which they required and Molloy crossed for a great team try.
Dungarvan came back on the attack again but big tackles from Jack Nolan and Robbie Walsh killed their momentum. A searing break from Molloy gave Arron Vogelaar his opportunity which he finished well. Walsh had the final say in the game with another well worked try to give Waterpark the win in a hard fought encounter.

U-16s League Final: Waterpark 14 – 0 Waterford City
In a very physical encounter, Waterpark took the East Munster U-16s title with victory over local rivals Waterford City last weekend. Waterpark played in to the wind in the first half and held their opponents scoreless with some great defence with the forward matching their bigger opposition.
In the second half, Waterpark used the elements to their advantage and second row Harry Donnelly and out-half Glen Kavanagh scored the home team tries while Kavanagh was successfully with both conversions.
Both sides now move on to the Pan Munster competition after Christmas where their paths may cross again.
