Waterpark’s Double Success

26th February 2007 By Munster Rugby

Waterpark celebrated double success last Sunday when both their U16 and U18 teams claimed the Munster Club Championship titles at Ballincollig RFC

U16 Final
Waterpark RFC 18-10 Highfield RFC

The U16 final proved a close encounter contested by two very good and well prepared teams. The game finished even at the end of normal time and extra time had to be played. In the end, Waterpark RFC claimed the win. Both teams can be very proud of their contribution to what was an excellent game of rugby that was enjoyed by the hundreds of spectators present. Congratulations to Waterpark RFC U16 squad that go on to represent Munster in the All Ireland semi final that will take place at Young Munster RFC grounds at Green Fields Limerick next Saturday, March 3. Kick off for this game will be 2.15pm.

U18 Final
Waterpark RFC 23-8 Sunday’s Well RFC

Waterpark RFC’s U18 team overcame a valiant Sunday’s Well team to claim their second title of the day in the final of the U18 Munster Championship. As was the case with the U16 game, this was a super game of rugby that was hotly contested from beginning to end. Both teams can be justly proud of their contribution to what was a very enjoyable and skilful game to watch. Waterpark now go on to represent Munster in the All Ireland semi final that will take place at Young Munster RFC grounds at Green Fields Limerick next Saturday, March 3. Kick off for this game will be 12.30pm.

Congratulations to all the clubs involved. We would like to thank Midleton RFC for initially making their grounds available it was unfortunate that conditions dictated that they were unplayable. A special word of thanks to Ballincollig RFC for stepping into the breach at very short notice and providing us with the use of their excellent facility.

We would like to wish Waterpark RFC U16 and U18 squads the best of luck next weekend in the All Ireland Club semi Finals.
