Weather Fails to Dampen Summer Camp Spirits

This week saw the start of the Ulster Bank Summer Scrummage Camps in Munster, with close to 250 children put through their paces in Colaiste Stiofain Naofa in Cork and Crescent College Comprehensive in Limerick.

In Cork, children were visited by Munster and Ireland stars Peter Stringer and Mick O’Driscoll on Thursday, while David Wallace and Barry Murphy visited the Limerick camp on Wednesday. Click here for more photos

Next week, the Ulster Bank Summer Scrummage Camps take place in Colaiste Stiofain Naofa in Cork and the University of Limerick.

Due to popular demand, the new advanced summer camps have increased to 20 camps in Munster, and are open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 13.

The much favoured Spud bud mascot has come to life this year and will be making appearances at some of the camps this year to add another element of fun. The five-day camps will be run from 9.30am to 1.30pm each day, between July 2nd and August 24th and will be staffed by qualified IRFU coaches. The professionally supervised activities will be child-centred, taking into consideration the capacities and needs of each young player. The activities will focus on team spirit, encouraging the development of the players through active guidance, with players learning predominantly through playing and fun activities.

Each participating child will receive an official Ulster Bank IRFU Canterbury Summer Scrummage Gear Pack including back pack, t-shirt, shorts, socks, rugby ball, poster and a certificate of attendance.
