Week Two Of Summer Camps Begin

Darren Sweetnam and James Cronin share a joke from last week's camp in Bandon

Week two is underway in the Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Summer Camps, as we move to Scariff and Highfield RFC where the newest recruits get another action-packed week underway.

Last week we got off the mark with Bandon, Garryowen and Kilrush all playing host, as an opening week saw the sun come out for our #FutureReds, as well as some international talent pay a visit.

This week Robin Copeland and Darren O’Shea will be down in Scariff, while Stephen Archer and Kevin O’Byrne are set to pay a visit to Highfield RFC, helping the youngsters with their skills and maybe even answering some questions about life as a Munster Rugby player.

This summer we have a total of 23 venues throughout the whole province (click here to find your nearest venue).

Camp places are available for boys and girls from 6 to 12 years old and take place over one week (Monday through to Friday inclusive) between 9:30am and 1:30pm.

The current crop of boys and girls will get the chance to make new friends, learn more about rugby values such as teamwork, respect and integrity, and also become more aware of the importance of physical fitness. All this while learning to develop the basic rugby skills of passing, tackling (in a controlled environment), evasion and kicking.

We’ll be checking in with the three camps later on in the week to see how they’re progressing, but for now we hope they all enjoy their time with us, becoming the next group of #FutureReds.
