There is a full program of League games in both the Ulster Bank All Ireland League and the Munster Junior League this weekend, but the bad weather forecast could see several games being cancelled.
The Ulster Bank League gets underway on Friday night with Division 2C leaders Old Crescent and third-placed Bruff get proceedings underway in a Limerick derby, with the home side looking to claim maximum points.
On Saturday in Division 1A, Garryowen travel to the Capital to take on Clontarf at Castle Avenue. The Sky Blues coming off the back of a home defeat by UCD face a tough assignment against a ‘Tarf side who were held to a 23-23 draw by Lansdowne at the Aviva Stadium last time out.
Cork Constitution, who are hovering above the drop zone following last week’s defeat by Old Belvedere at Anglesea Road, will be looking to make the most of home advantage count as they entertain Terenure College.
Fifth-placed Young Munster will be looking to climb up the table as they welcome struggling Galwegians to Tom Clifford Park.
Dolphin, who are hovering above the drop zone in Division 2B face a tricky assignment as they lock horns with fellow strugglers Blackrock College at Irish Independent Park.
Fifth-placed Shannon are away to third-placed Dublin University and struggling UL Bohemian take on Buccaneers at Annacotty.
In Division 2A Cashel will be looking to bounce back form their defeat by Banbridge at the County Down venue as they host bottom side Corinthians at the Spafield.
Tipperary neighbours Nenagh Ormond who claimed a valuable home win against Skerries last time out face a tricky task as they travel to County Kildare to take on second-placed Naas.
UCC, who are fourth following last week’s away win over Corinthians, will have their work cut out as they lock horns with struggling Thomond on Leeside.
Sunday’s Well trip to Dungannon has fallen victim to the weather, while Highfield will be expected to keep their challenge for promotion on track as they welcome MU Barnhall to Woodleigh Park.
The only game in Division 2C on Saturday sees Midleton locking horns with Kanturk at Towns Park in a mid-table clash.
The big game of the day in Division 1 of the Munster Junior League sees leaders Clonmel locking horns with Clanwilliam in a Premier County derby at the South Tipperary venue, with Clonmel expected to claim maximum points.
Second-placed Bandon should have little difficulty in seeing off Old Christians at Old Chapel and Richmond will be expected to keep their unbeaten run intact as they host bottom side St Mary’s in a Limerick City derby.
Fourth-placed Kilfeacle will be expected to make life difficult for St Senan’s, who are sixth, at the West Tipperary venue.
Clonakilty, who are second from bottom, entertain Newcastle West and both sides are without a win since October.
Galbally will be aiming to continue their recent good run as they entertain Skibbereen and Muskerry will be looking to grind out another valuable win in their bid to avoid the drop as they host Waterpark.
Division 2 leaders Abbeyfeale will be expected to maintain their unbeaten run as they take on Waterford City at the West Limerick venue.
Second-placed Presentation will be expected to get a result from their away tie against Charleville and fellow promotion chasers Kinsale are away to Castleisland.
Fourth-placed Cobh Pirates will be expected to bounce back from their recent defeat by Kinsale and claim maximum points when they host bottom side Dungarvan.
Ennis will have their work cut out as they aim to record their first win of the campaign against Tralee at the Clare venue and Thurles should have little difficulty in seeing off Mallow, who are still seeking their first win.
Seventh-placed Ballincollig travel to the Premier County to take on struggling Newport.
Leaders Youghal and Fermoy put their unbeaten runs on the line at the East Cork venue, with the home side expected to claim the points in the top game in the Third Division.
Second-placed Crosshaven are away to Scariff, who are seeking their first win of the campaign.
Douglas-Carrigaline will be aiming to keep their promotion aspirations intact as they entertain Chorca Dhuibhne at the South Cork venue.
Killorglin will be looking to make the most of home advantage count as they aim to build on last week’s away win over Chorca Dhuibhne when they take on Bantry Bay at the Mid Kerry venue.
Fethard who are still without a win entertain Killarney, whose only win to date was against Bantry Bay at the Kerry venue in October.
