The game of the day in Division 1A of the Ulster Bank League sees Young Munster hosting defending champions Clontarf at Tom Clifford Park. The home side will be aiming to make life difficult for ‘Tarf as they look to build on their away win over last season’s runners-up Cork Constitution last time out.
Garryowen welcome Cork Con to Dooradoyle. The Limerick side will be looking to make the most of home advantage count in bid to climb up the table following their away win over Old Belvedere. Con’ face a tough assignment in their bid to bounce back from their home defeat by Young Munster.
UL Bohemian and Old Wesley lock horns in a top of the table clash in Division 1B at Thomond Park, with both sides putting 100% records on the line.
UCC, who are hovering above the drop zone, face a tricky task as they host promotion challengers Ballymena at the Mardyke, and Leeside neighbours Dolphin, who are propping up the table, entertain Galwegians at Irish Independent Park.
Shannon, who are still seeking their first win make the long trip to County Down to take on Ballynahinch.
Highfield, fifth in Division 2A, welcome table toppers Nenagh Ormond to Woodleigh Park and the home side face a tough assignment in a bid to preserve their unbeaten run.
At the foot of the table, Cashel host Corinthians in a basement clash at the Spafield and Sunday’s Well, who are propping up the table, are away to sixth-placed Belfast Harlequins.
Thomond, who are looking to avoid a second successive relegation, make the long trip to Foyleside to take on City of Derry at Judge’s Road, with both sides seeking their first points at the foot of the table in Division 2B.
Limerick neighbours Old Crescent, who are hovering above the drop zone, face a tricky task as they go in search of their first win against promotion-chasing Wanderers at Rosbrien.
Midleton welcome Rainey Old Boys to East Cork for their top of the table clash in Division 2 C at Towns Park with both sides putting unbeaten runs on the line.
Kanturk make the long trip to the Yeats County to take on Sligo at Hamilton Park in Strandhill and Bruff go in search of their first points against Seapoint at Kilbogget Park.
There is a full programme of games across all three divisions of the Munster Junior League, with proceedings getting underway in Division 3 this weekend.
Bandon and Richmond, who were among Clonmel’s main challengers for the title last season, get the show on the road on Saturday evening in Division 1 at Old Chapel. The West Cork side will be looking to make the most of home advantage in a bid to record their first win, while the Limerick side are coming off the back of a home win over Clanwilliam.
On Sunday, Clanwilliam entertain arch rivals Kilfeacle in a West Tipperary derby at Clanwilliam Park. Kilfeacle, who defeated Abbeyfeale in their opener, will be aiming to make life difficult for Clan’ who claimed a losing bonus point against Richmond.
Defending champions Clonmel will be expected to return home with the points from their trip to Rathcooney to face bottom side Old Christians.
Newly promoted Cobh Pirates, who claimed a losing bonus point from their opener against Galbally, face a tricky task as they host Skibbereen in a Cork derby at the Paddocks.
Newcastle West host Galbally in a County Limerick derby, with the home side looking to make home advantage count in a bid to add to the losing bonus point claimed from their narrow defeat by Muskerry.
Muskerry travel to the Banner County to take on St Senan’s in a game which doubles up as a Munster Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup tie. Both sides recorded opening day victories and the winners will be away to Skibbereen or Abbeyfeale in the quarter finals of the Junior Clubs’ Challenge Cup in November.
The game of the day in Division 2 sees Waterpark going head to head with Thurles at Ballinakill. The Waterford side are aiming for a quick return to the top flight, while Thurles will be pushing for promotion after narrowly missing out last season.
St Mary’s will be aiming to keep their bid for promotion intact as they travel to south Cork to take on Kinsale.
Youghal, who recorded a maximum point home win in their opener against Ennis, travel to the Kingdom to take on Tralee, who ran in four tries in their opening day defeat by Waterford City.
Newly promoted Crosshaven open their account in a local derby against Ballincollig at Tanner Park and Mallow will have their work cut out as they take on Waterford City at St Joseph’s Road.
Ennis go in search of their first points as they entertain Charleville and Presentation get their campaign underway as they welcome Castleisland to Rathuard.
Mitchelstown, who are celebrating their 20th anniversary, make their debut in Division 3 against Bantry Bay at the West Cork venue, in a game which is also ‘Town’s first competitive match at Junior 1 level.
Douglas-Carrigaline begin their campaign with a home tie against Corca Dhuibhne and Killorglin host Fethard.
Dungarvan, who were relegated after one season in Division 2, begin their campaign with a home tie against Killarney.
