Weekend Club Preview

Cup competitions take centre stage this weekend at both senior and junior levels.

The Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Cup quarter finals are down for decision with a full preview here.

The Cyril Fitzgerald Plate also gets underway this weekend with two quarter-finals down for decision.
Bruff entertain Garryowen on Friday night with the winners meeting Kanturk or Midleton, who meet next week.

UL Bohemian and Thomond clash at Annacotty while the Sunday’s Well v Dolphin tie has been put back until the New Year.

Bandon and Clonmel get proceedings under way in the Junior Clubs Challenge Cup at Old Chapel on Saturday evening.

The winners will be at home to Cobh Pirates or holders Richmond, who go head to head in East Cork on Sunday.

Galbally host near neighbours Clanwilliam at the County Limerick venue. The winners will have a home quarter-final against Old Christians or Kilfeacle, who clash at Rathcooney.

Abbeyfeale make the long trip to West Cork to take on Skibbereen and the winners will be rewarded with a home quarter-final tie against St Senan’s.

In the Junior Clubs’ Challenge Shield, Mallow face a tough assignment as they travel to the Premier County to take on Thurles, with the winners hosting Castleisland in the quarter-finals.

Youghal are away to Presentation and the winners will have home advantage in the quarter-finals against Waterpark.

Kinsale welcome Ennis to South Cork with a home quarter final tie against Waterford City at stake.

The only derby sees Ballincollig taking on Charleville at Tanner Park and the winners will be at home to Crosshaven or Tralee, who meet at Myrtleville Cross.

The only game in Division 3 of the Munster Junior League sees Fermoy travelling to West Cork to take on Bantry Bay. The visitors will be aiming to claim all points on offer in a bid to mount a challenge for promotion.
